Robert Jacobson was a young man who loved life, loved his family, loved his friends, loved his community and loved playing sports. Robert tragically lost his life in a fatal car accident when he was coming home from college during spring break. It is with his spirit of involvement and making new friends both on and off the court and fields that we created and developed our sports programs.
When was Robert Jacobson Sports founded?
Robert Jacobson Sports program started as an instructional basketball program for children attending Temple Beth Abraham in Tarrytown. Since 2002 we have expanded our reach to include many Synagogues including Woodlands Community Temple, Greenbergh Hebrew Center, Beth El Temple in Chappaqua and many participants from Catholic Youth Organization and AAU sports teams.
What is the Robert Jacobson Sports philosophy?
Robert Jacobson Sports programs teach children and adults the importance of tolerance, community spirit and sportsmanship while competing on the court or field. All children regardless of religion, race and nationality are welcome to play in our sports programs. Robert Jacobson Sports stresses playing over winning at all costs. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to experience sports by making sure all players get into the game. Coaches agree with our philosophy that playing to win is fine but all players must have the opportunity to participate in each and every game.
What sports do we offer to Children?
Currently we offer Ardsley Youth Football - flag and tackle teams, basketball for all ages, Girls Softball Clinics, Boys Baseball Clinics and teams, boxing for all age groups, arm wrestling tournaments, cheerleading and Ardsley Youth Lacrosse.
